What Activities Can Families Enjoy on a Cruise Ship?

Onboard facilities and activities vary by cruise line and vessel, including swimming pools, water parks, sports courts, cinemas, arcades, and interactive entertainment.

Younger children may enjoy age-appropriate play areas, themed activities and supervised kids’ clubs. Most cruise lines divide their kids’ clubs into specific age groups and offer creative expression, social interaction, and cultural programs, while parents can enjoy adult-only areas of the ships knowing their kids are engaged in fun activities.

Families can enjoy trivia competitions, outdoor movie screenings, live shows, and themed parties that provide opportunities for shared entertainment. Cruise ships offer a variety of choices for dining including family-friendly restaurants to international menus and speciality dining.

How Can Families Choose the Right Cruise Ship?

Choosing the right cruise ship is crucial for a good holiday experience. Families should consider ages of their children, cabin requirements, entertainment options and budget for cheap family cruises before making a decision.

Accommodation is an important criteria while choosing a cruise holiday and getting family cruise offers. Consider the different family-friendly cabins and staterooms on offer. Choose a standard cabin, a cabin with two bathrooms or a family suite, which has separate interconnected rooms from your kids.

Larger ships often provide extensive facilities including swimming pools, entertainment venues, children clubs and a wide variety of dining options. Smaller ships offer a quieter atmosphere and itineraries including scenic destinations and fewer onboard attractions.

Compare the overall cruise package rather than focusing on the advertised fare. Check drinks, shore excursions, and specialty dining are included or charged separately.

Family cruises offer convenience by bringing accommodation, dining, entertainment and transport within a holiday package. Start planning your next family holiday on a cruise, discovering new places.
